Why floating licenses are unsupported by licensed server?

Floating license file is installed in FLEXlm License Server. Perform Status Inquiry in Server Status tab reports that the license file is found, but all licenses are unsupported by licensed server.
All client Trados applications are in demo mode.
The license file was generated for the wrong computer
The license file was generated for the wrong computer.
Please open the license file in Notepad and note the Host ID in the "SERVER this_host" line.
Then in FLEXlm License Server switch to System Settings tab and note the value of Disk Volume Serial Number and Ethernet Address fields.
One of these two parameters must match the Host ID in the license file.
If not, there are two ways to reconcile this difference.
1. Find computer with Host ID that matches the one in the license file, move FLEXlm License Server and the license file there and use it as your Licensing Server.
2. Return this license file in your Customer Center account and generate a new one for the Host ID of the current Licensing Server. Please see Answer 2027 for more details on replacing license files. |
